Grass Fed Ghee Australia

What are the Benefits of Grass Fed Ghee from Australia?

Let’s start with grass-fed butter.

Grass-fed butter is a good source of vitamin A and the antioxidant beta carotene. It  has a higher proportion of healthy, unsaturated fats and CLA.  It also has vitamin K2 with is imporant for bone and heart health.

Most common cooking oils are unhealthy and contribute to conditions such as high cholesterol.  Grass fed ghee is a step up from grass fed butter and has many health benefits.

Think it of your healthy, lactose free (and guilt free) butter substitute.  Ghee is a healthy fat and is one of the best sources of healthy fats for vegetarians, post partum mothers and as a babies first dairy. It is perfect for those following a keto diet as well.

It's unfortunate that Australian organic grassfed ghee is currently not found in the big supermarkets in Australia like Woolworths or Coles.

Why? Because quality takes time and ethical producers using Australian dairy can’t price match lower quality suppliers from overseas.

Ghee is easier to digest than other oils and is often preferred for those looking for a lactose free option.

It is a myth that ghee is 'just clarified butter'.

When being made ghee is not heated at high tempertatures so the nutritional content and enzymes in the butter is preserved.  However what makes ghee different to clarified butter is the simmering of the butter for up to seven hours.  This low heating temperature over a long period causes that fatty acid chains to be transformed.

Ghee is a healthy fat (like coconut oil or an avocado), it closely mimics the structure of your cell membranes.  It is this feature of ghee that provides it's health benefits - one of them getting more out of the foods you eat because it increased bioavailability.

Ghee has a different action on the body than clarified butter.

OMGhee’s biodynamic ghee is made from the butter of grass fed cows from a single source – Paris Creek Farms.  Our organic ghee butter is sourced from The Organic Milk Co.
