But did you know that ghee is not just for eating?

For centuries, this golden elixir has been cherished for its many uses in natural beauty care.  Because it’s small in structure, and a fat, our skin loves it.

I’m excited to take you along this beauty journey and unviel some of it’s hidden beauty secrets which I am just becoming aware of.

Ghee Skincare Benefits

Ghee for skin is not only a nourishing treat but also offers a wide range of benefits.  You can use it to enhance your skincare routine in lots of ways.

Here’s a few:

Excellent Moisturiser: The rich fatty acids in ghee deeply hydrate the skin cells, leaving your skin soft and supple. When applied topically, ghee butter provides intense moisturisation, making it an ideal remedy for dry and flaky skin.

Wrinkle Reducer: Say goodbye to pesky wrinkles with ta combination of ghee and honey.  Mix it up and apply to your skin for 20 minutes. It’s been said it will work wonders in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, helping you maintain a youthful glow.

Glowing Skin: For a radiant and glowing complexion, ghee acts as a deep conditioner. Mix some raw milk with ghee to create a smooth paste and apply it to your skin. This potent combination will leave your skin nourished, rejuvenated, and glowing with vitality.

This next ghee skincare benefit blew me away.  Like many Australian’s with sun damaged skin I’m always on the look out for natural ways to achieve a uniformed skin town.

Uniform Skin Tone: Unveil a more even skin tone with the help of ghee and turmeric. By mixing turmeric with ghee and applying it to your face, you can experience remarkable results. Leave it on for a while before rinsing it off to reveal a more uniform complexion.

Chapped lips? No problem! Leave a dab of ghee on your lips overnight, and wake up to a smooth and pink pout. Additionally, if you’re looking for a natural exfoliator try mising sugar and ghee.  This gently removes dead skin cells revealing soft, supple and kissable lips.

As you can see, ghee for skin goes beyond its culinary applications with a load of benefits. With its moisturizing properties, anti-aging effects, and ability to promote a radiant complexion, ghee is a versatile and natural beauty agent.

Never waste your ghee again, if it drops on the bench while making your breakfast, lunch or dinner scoop it up and smother it on your skin.

Stay tuned for the next part of this series, where I’ll introduce the remaining ghee-based recipes to complete your holistic beauty regimen and uncover more ghee skincare benefits.

Let’s embrace the power of ghee and unlock your natural beauty together.

Want to know our favourite ghee recipes?

Everyone is always asking. ‘Do you have any OMGhee recipes”  “How do I use my ghee in recipes’

Straight up I say – “you already know how to use it”.

It’s easy – just swap out your oil or butter in your cooking for the healthier, lactose free version of OMGhee – and now you have a ghee recipe.

As Australians we often associate ghee with curry. Yes it’s great for curry because of it’s high smoking point, however, OMGhee also makes a great eating ghee.  So the most simplest ghee recipe is OMGhee on bread, your crumpets, use it to cook your pancakes in, eggs and steaks.  Remember, “You already know how to use it!”

However, we all need some inspiration at times, I know I do, so here’s a list of ghee recipes, those we have currently on our website and are always updating.

  1. Ghee, Corriander and Rice.  This recipe is our all time favourite.  It fills you up without leaving you feel heavy and is oh so nourishing.
  2. Our Special Milk recipe for all your insomniacs out there. (It helps for constipation too)
  3. Salmon and Aspargus.  We wrote this one especially for easter.  This recipe is a staple in our household.
  4. Caramelised Peaches with Ghee.  This is our dessert recipe – it’s amazing with Paris Creek Farms Greek Yogurt.
  5. Feeling like a snack?  Our ghee biscuit recipe is quick and easy both to make and eat. 🤣🥄
  6. Bullet Proof Coffee.  Great for kick-starting a weight loss program

Do you have a favourtie ghee recipe?  If so share the love.  Meessage us at and we’ll add it to the collection (and give you credit of course!).  The more the merrier.
