Ethical Ghee

An ethical organic farmer with cows

Are you a fan of Australian organic ghee and it’s delicious, richly flavored buttery goodness?  Ever wondered where your ghee comes from and how it’s made? No, not from the supermarket shelf, or from our kitchen, but cows and the farms.

If like me, you care about where your food comes from and how it’s produced, then you’ll want to consider eating an ethical ghee.

Ethical ghee is made using butter from cows that are treated well and fed a healthy diet. Happy Cows.  It is also comes from Australia – to support Australian Dairy farmers, and travels the smallest distance as possible to our kitchen.

Both our biodynamic and organic ghee is of a higher quality and contains more nutrients than regular ghee. Plus, it’s made using traditional methods, with no chemicals,  preservatives, or adulteration. So not only is it healthier for you, it’s also better for the cows and the environment.

But that’s not all – by choosing to buy Australian organic OMGhee, you’re supporting sustainable and humane farming practices. The farm we purchase our Australian Biodynamic and Organic butter from is the first carbon neutral dairy in Australia.  You’re not only treating yourself to a delicious, high-quality product, you’re also doing your bit to help create a more ethical and sustainable food system.

It’s a win-win situation!

In addition to being healthier and more sustainable, ethical ghee also has a number of other benefits. For one, it has a higher smoke point than other fats, so it can be used for cooking at higher temperatures without burning. This makes it a versatile ingredient for a wide range of dishes, from sautéed vegetables to grilled meats.

Another benefit of ethical ghee is its long shelf life. Because it is made using traditional methods it can last for several months without spoiling. This makes it a convenient option for those who want to stock up on a high-quality cooking fat without worrying about it going bad.

So if you’re looking for a delicious, healthy, and convenient cooking fat, consider purchasing an ethical ghee. You’ll be supporting sustainable farming practices and treating yourself to a superior product that will enhance the flavor of your dishes and treading yourself to a healthier, more delicous product.  And who knows, maybe you’ll even impress your friends with your newfound knowledge of ethical ghee. OMGhee!

Biodynamic Ghee is Rarer than Gold!

Biodynamic Ghee is Rare

300 Greek Spartans went into battle against 250,000 of the Persian Army to hold the peninsula of Thermopylae.

A mighty feat that has been memorialised in the glamor of Hollywood.

We’re no movie stars, but bringing 300 jars to market every month is a mighty feat too.

And, while we’re not up against an army, some days we feel like we’re going into battle.

Why?

Biodynamic butter is Extremely Rare and expensive compared to other butters on the market.

The dairy that we purchase our butter from is the only dairy in Australia that provides enough biodynamic butter to make ghee.

Everyone is scrambling for it.

We order months in advance to make sure we get it for you.

Butter connoisseurs and health nuts want it above all other butters.  Especially pregnant women, nursing mothers and those with compromised health because of its purity and higher nutrient profile.

Adding to the already limited supply as we come to the end of the dairy season, biodynamic butter is becoming even harder to obtain.

Limited supply means we are limited to producing only  300 jars of Biodynamic + Grassfed OMGhee a month – it’s a battle and everyone is fighting for it.

To make sure you don’t miss out on your jar, get on the subscription wagon.

Biodynamic or Organic?

Owner of OMGhee with Australian made organic ghee

Choices, choices, choices. What should you choose?

Our premium Australian organic ghee or our exclusive and rare biodynamic ghee?

Both are premium products, but here’s what we tell our customers at the farmers markets.

If you’re pregnant, a nursing mother, or overcoming serious health challenges we suggest you use the Biodynamic as it has the highest nutrient profile.

Or, if saving the planet, carbon neutral agriculture and all that jazz is high on your values then yep, keep with the Biodynamic and the farming practice and carbon neutral practices are the best in Australia.

However…

If you just love the taste, the feeling of nourishing your body. and you appreciate the amazing cooking qualities of OMGhee – choose organic.

It’ll keep you healthy and put some change in your pocket. 😏

PS – if you’re curious why the biodyamic ghee is so exlusive we talk about it here.
